The path to Jewelry by Tim & Friends is over 50 years long, starting with the gift of a rock tumbler for Tim’s 9th birthday. His Dad and he tumbled and polished rocks for the prescribed 6 weeks and then made Christmas gifts with them for family members. As a young boy, curiosity also demanded the disassembly (and occasionally the reassembly) of assorted time pieces.

The next step in the journey occurred in 1990, when Tim went to work in sales with J.R. Dunn Jewelers in South Weymouth, MA, where he was mentored by the bench jeweler there who remains his friend to this day.
Step forward to 1996, when he decided to move his young family to Mt. Washington Valley and opened C & T Crafters in Reporters Court in the spring of that year.
Jewelry tasks that Tim accomplishes in-house today include hand-wrought work using your metal or his (gold, platinum, palladium, and others), ring sizing, stone setting, stone replacements, thickening of worn bands (re-shank), replacing and rebuilding of worn prongs, conversion of items to pendants, tie tacks and earrings, with a range of options for posts such as screw backs or locking posts.
Full service custom jewelry design and creation is a specialty of Jewelry By Tim & Friends. If you have an idea or some jewelry you would like to re-purpose, Tim can bring your idea to reality. Take something old and make it new – or create a new design all your own.

Restoration of your antique jewelry is the preservation of your family’s heritage, and jewelry restoration requires several technical steps in order to bring each piece as close as possible to its original condition. Tim is a jewelry restoration expert whose skill ensures that your children’s children will be able to cherish the jewels that have been passed down to them.

Tim has also been expanding services on time pieces, building up equipment, supplies, and experience. The pocket watch below dates back to the 1600s!

The by-appointment protocols that were put in place during the COVID shut-downs remain in place today in order to provide the best service to his customers.
